Before his venture into attainable housing, William enjoyed a distinguished career in commercial real estate, holding key positions with renowned national and regional companies. His tenure with Blockbuster Video, Hollywood Video, Family Dollar Stores, Embree Group, and the Hutton Company exemplifies his versatile expertise in retail development and corporate real estate management. William’s extensive experience spans international markets, including Latin America, Southern Europe, Japan, and Australia, as well as domestic expansions across Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah.

William’s proficiency encompasses various facets of real estate development, from purchase contracts and negotiations to development proformas, forecasting, and project management. His track record includes overseeing the development of $55 million worth of Dollar General projects annually in Central/Northern California and Oregon, as well as the acquisition and development of 36 Family Dollar Stores in Arizona.

In addition to his robust real estate credentials, William holds a Master D-12 retailer license with the State of Arizona-Department of Housing and is a licensed real estate broker in Arizona and California. He remains an active member of industry organizations such as MHI Arizona, leveraging his expertise to drive innovation and progress in the manufactured housing sector. With over 35 years of active membership in ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), William continues to contribute his insights and leadership to shape the future of real estate development.

Alesa Riley holds the esteemed position of Director of Development at Blue Elk Homes, where she spearheads the analysis and management of new and ongoing home projects. With a robust background spanning over 15 years in residential real estate and a decade in commercial development, she possesses a keen understanding of market dynamics.

At Blue Elk Homes, Alesa is instrumental in charting the course for future developments in manufactured housing. Her commitment to excellence, innovation, and community engagement resonates deeply with the company’s core values and overarching vision. Alesa firmly believes that everyone deserves to live in their dream home, and she channels this ethos into her work every day.

Educationally, Alesa holds a degree in International Finance from Indiana University, complemented by an associate degree from the National University of Singapore. More recently, she furthered her expertise with a certification in Business Analytics from Harvard Business School Online. Beyond her professional pursuits, Alesa finds joy in traveling, following Formula 1 racing, and cherishing moments with her husband and six children.

Valerie Vanheusden is an integral part of Blue Elk Homes, serving as the Exclusive Licensed Real Estate Agent and also bringing her expertise as an accomplished Interior Designer. With a passion for homeownership and attainable housing, Valerie has played a key role in selecting home sites and facilitating the sale of each new home.

As the Principal/Owner of Decorva Design, Valerie brings over 25 years of experience to the table. Her involvement in Blue Elk’s design process from inception to completion ensures that each home reflects her commitment to excellence. From selecting floor plans to staging and adding unique designer touches, Valerie strives to deliver an exceptional product to every buyer.

Raised in Brussels, Belgium, Valerie’s upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for the significance of creating a home and its impact on families and communities. Her guiding principle is simple yet profound: “Love the space you live in.”
